Excellence Vs Persistence

I have never been a bigger fan of persistence. Excellence always drew my attention and influenced my thoughts. But lately things aren't working out as did they before.
I have been working as a trainee at Paropakar Maternity and Women's Hospital Thapathali for more than last 2 months where we undergo a rigorous training for cesarian section and normal labor related activities with duty hours lasting more than 32 hours .
